Goelzer Envelope Welcomes Earle Painter to the Leadership Team!

Goelzer Envelope is pleased to announce that Earle Painter has officially joined our leadership team! His appointment marks a major addition to our company, bringing a specialized perspective shaped by more than thirty years of work in the mail and automation sectors. Earle will begin his role as President, as Paul Goelzer, Jr. transitions into the role of CEO. This leadership expansion comes at a pivotal time for Goelzer, as we continue to expand our footprint as one of the nation’s premier envelope manufacturers.

Industry Contributions and Expertise

Earle comes to Goelzer following a long and successful career where he focused on the very equipment that makes high-volume mail distribution possible. Most recently, he served as the President of Automation Solutions at Bell and Howell. In that role, he led the Product Solutions Business Unit, overseeing the development and distribution of high-speed inserting, automated packaging, and automated locker  systems used by a variety of private and services companies in North America and abroad. Earle’s time there gave him a ground-level understanding of what makes automation succeed and we’re eager to use this experience to contribute to our customers’ successes.

Leadership Acumen

Before his leadership at Bell and Howell, Earle spent over a decade as the President of Sensible Technologies. His work was centered on providing consulting and technical hardware solutions to mailers who needed to improve their production floors. Earlier in his career, Earle managed mail operations in the banking and print and mail service industries.

Serving Envelope Customers

Transitioning from a customer using high speed inserting technology to an envelope manufacturing company, Earle brings a unique aspect to better serve Goelzer Envelope customers.

He understands that for our clients, an envelope is a performance-critical component where even a minor misalignment can halt a high-speed inserter. Under Earle’s leadership, Goelzer will further sharpen its focus on the high quality and turn time it is known for as well as ensuring the “runnability” of every order—whether a short-run custom project or a multi-million-piece web run—is optimized for maximum throughput.

This partnership is especially important as Goelzer continues to invest in advanced machinery, such as our W+D 628 High-Speed Web machine and our Heidelberg printing presses. By combining Earle’s knowledge of automation with our high-quality manufacturing, we can offer results like our Inserta-Fast technology with even greater certainty. Clients in the transactional and direct mail spaces will benefit from his ability to identify production bottlenecks and suggest improvements that increase total output.

The Goelzer Experience

Earle joins a company that has stayed true to the values set by our founder, Paul Goelzer, Sr., when he opened our doors in 1985. His mantra was to “get it done right the first time,” and Earle’s approach to inserting and packing automation fits perfectly with that philosophy. As we look ahead, we are excited to have someone with Earle’s extensive industry background helping us provide real answers for our partners. Please join us in welcoming Earle Painter to Goelzer Envelope. We look forward to the many ways his expertise will help our clients achieve their production and quality goals with greater speed and reliability.
